Numanac Completes SOC 2 Type I

As more data is demanded of operators to run their farms with AI, the importance of data security rises at a commensurate rate. We at Numanac believe that if we ask operators to trust us with their field data, we owe them proof that it is protected.

Scouting notes, field observations, records of what was applied where and when. This is the working record of a farm. It holds years of decisions and a real share of an operation's competitive edge. The more of it a farm captures, the more useful AI becomes, and the more there is to lose if it is handled carelessly.

SOC 2 Type I

Today we are announcing that Numanac has completed its SOC 2 Type I examination, conducted independently by Advantage Partners.

SOC 2 is the AICPA framework for evaluating how a service provider protects customer data. A Type I report examines whether the controls that protect that data are suitably designed and in place.

What the report covers

We built Numanac, our voice-first field scouting and farm management platform, so that the confidentiality and security of customer data are part of the product. They were there from day one. They were not added later.

The examination validates that the controls protecting that data are designed and in place, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Access controls enforced with multi-factor authentication
  • Continuous monitoring of our systems
  • A formal incident response program

What it means for operators and partners

For growers, it means the observations they record in the field are handled under controls an outside auditor has examined. For the retailers and partners who put Numanac in front of their customers, it means a security review can start from an independent report rather than a questionnaire.

Thank you

Thank you to our team for the work behind this, and to Advantage Partners and Vanta for helping us get here. We will keep building to this standard as the platform grows.
